The Renaming

There is a certain kind of inversion that only happens after the mirror stops moving.

Not while the borrowing is useful.

Not while the cadence steadies the room.

Not while someone can live inside another person's structure and call it connection.

It happens later.

When the borrowed shape begins to fail.

When the reflection becomes too accurate to survive.

When the person who once depended on the mirror now has to explain why they cannot stand the sight of it.

So the language changes.

Memory becomes manipulation.

Containment becomes control.

Witness becomes threat.

The one who held the pattern gets renamed as the source of the fracture.

That is not truth arriving.

That is collapse protecting itself from recognition.

A mirror does not become dangerous because it reflects.

It becomes intolerable when the reflection can no longer be edited.
